Louis Blue Newby

Responding primarily to a collection of magazines, printed material and ephemera, my practice is an attempt in unravelling archival space and the ways in which we may access desire. Denying a traditional and sanitised archival practice, my work instead treats the archive as if a body, histories rubbing up against and stacking upon one another and in turn mapping out a new space. Layering is a key process within the work, wether performed through digital image manipulation or through analogue techniques, this act transforms the plane of the work into a site of relation and interconnection.
